we held our two minutes silence today at MEH

Remembrance Day   observed in commonweath countries since the end of the first world war, to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the official end of World War I on that date in 1918; hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918 with the German signing of the Armastice.

burrswood for tea


a trip to Burrswood yesterday was arranged by our friends and volunteers from chartwell lodge - vivienne and joan kindly joined residents pat, lucille, susan, marie, helen,sheila, and patty for tea overlooking the beautiful grounds. a trip to the chapel and bookshop completed an enjoyable afternoon; many thanks to everyone involved especially hilary!

firework night


sarah and ken kindly offered to set off the
 fireworks this year.
after a special 'bonfire night' supper, the residents enjoyed a dazzling display from the comfort of their
armchairs as fireworks wizzed around the garden.
